POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Assistant (EA) will be responsible for providing executive-level support to the Associate Vice President (AVP) in the Office of Equity and Compliance (OEC). The EA should exhibit excellent interpersonal abilities, be proactive, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and display resourcefulness and adaptability, along with strong customer service skills, professionalism, and confidentiality. The EA will collaborate closely with the AVP to provide comprehensive administrative support by gathering information, analyzing data, and preparing recommendations based on data, studies or surveys. This role involves consulting with other OEC staff as needed, as well as communicating with students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include coordinating and assisting with various activities, events, and programs for OEC, and maintaining and collecting data, reports, and other information as directed. The EA is expected to demonstrate significant judgment and professionalism with internal and external constituents, work with increasing independence, and take on more complex tasks as skills and knowledge develop.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional training program specific to the position and directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Driver License, Valid and in State
  • Knowledge of the principles of organization, administration and management; and the ability to analyze and find solutions to problems, work independently, communicate effectively, and write clear and concise reports. Some positions may require a basic knowledge of research techniques and statistical methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree or professional training program specific to the position (e.g. Certified Public Accountant) and directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Demonstrated experience in an executive level support role
  • Ability to exercise considerable, independent judgment with a thorough knowledge of professional administrative procedures involving in-depth problem solving techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and proficiency with PeopleSoft/Oracle
