About Cal Poly Pomona
Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Since its founding in 1938, Cal Poly Pomona students participate in an integrative experiential learning education that is inclusive, relevant, and values diverse perspectives and experiences. With a variety of degree programs in the arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, and professional disciplines, the university is well known for its learn- by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model.
The university is noted for its scenic and historic 1,400-acre campus, which was once the winter ranch of cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg. We acknowledge that Cal Poly Pomona resides on the territorial and homelands of the Tongva and Tataavium people who are the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar. The university’s nearly 30,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus’s more than 1,400 faculty as part of 54 baccalaureate and 29 master’s degree programs, 11 credential and certificate programs, and a doctorate in educational leadership.
College of Business Administration
Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) — a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide. Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. In 2022, the Singelyn Graduate School of Business was established through a transformative gift from alumni David and Ruth Singelyn. Today, the graduate school offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and several specialized master’s programs. The college is housed in a state-of-the-art, three-building complex, featuring modern classrooms, lecture halls, labs, conference rooms, student club spaces, and offices for more than 100 faculty and staff.
Department of International Business & Marketing
The IBM Department is one of six academic departments within the CPP College of Business Administration, which serves more than 6,000 students. The department enrolls approximately 1,300 majors, including about 900 students pursuing one of six career tracks in marketing management and 400 students specializing in areas of international business.
IBM faculty hold doctoral and master’s degrees in their respective disciplines and are actively engaged in scholarly research, teaching innovation, and professional service. They regularly publish in well-respected, peer-reviewed journals and present their work at academic and professional conferences. The department embraces the Teacher–Scholar model and is deeply committed to the success of its diverse student population, taking pride in supporting students’ social mobility and academic achievement.
Academic quality, relevance, and excellence are demonstrated through student-centered, career focused teaching and learning, impactful scholarship, and creative activities grounded in an evidence-based culture.
