    • Position Summary
    • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in Project Rebound.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after September 15, 2025 and ending on or before May 29, 2026. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Handle front desk responsibilities, including responding to inquiries by Stan State email or Project Rebound phone line, scheduling appointments, conveying information, and warmly welcoming visitors.
      • Provide general office support such as printing, making copies, scanning documents, organizing files, binders, label creation, and other office support as needed.
      • Mentor and guide students who are in the Project Rebound program. This includes tracking meetings and detailed note-taking.
      • Serve as a positive role model to guide, support, and empower students throughout their academic year as they begin their academic and social adjustment to Stan State.
      • Meet with assigned mentees individually or in groups on a regular basis.
      • Maintain regular contact with mentees through Stan State email and monitor their progress.
      • Educate mentees about and refer to campus services and resources.
      • Relay any concerns about students to the appropriate individual(s).
      • Create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all assigned mentees.
      • Assist mentees with developing student success strategies such as effective time management, studying, note-taking, test-taking, critical thinking, listening, reading, communication, stress management balancing work and school and other life skills.
      • Assist mentees with personal situations by listening and referring to appropriate program staff and/or campus departments as appropriate.
      • Assist with coordinating, promoting, and facilitating department-hosted events.
      • Participate in weekly staff meetings, regular trainings, and activities as directed.
      • Assist with planning and facilitating mentor activities as assigned.
      • Serve as a department representative at University events as needed.
      • Collaborate with department's program staff and student assistants.
      • Complete administrative tasks such as tracking/reporting mentee information, complete appropriate forms and logs.
      • Abide by and enforce all program and University policies and procedures.
      • Help students with registration assistance and academic deadlines.
      • Support incoming students with admissions applications, FAFSA, and transcript orders by referring to designated campus personnel.
      • Assist students with setting up email account, canvas, and student portal guidance.
      • Help students in reading and understanding Degree Progress Report. Monitor student progress and provide appropriate referral(s).
      • Attend campus functions and serve as representative for program.
      • Assist with New Student Orientation (NSO) and other campus and community events.
      • Assist with coordinating, facilitating, and encouraging attendance at Stockton Campus events as needed.
      • Other duties as assigned.

       

    • Qualifications
    • Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
    • Salary Range
    • $16.50 per hour.
