About Cal Poly Pomona

Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Since its founding in 1938, Cal Poly Pomona students participate in an integrative experiential learning education that is inclusive, relevant, and values diverse perspectives and experiences. With a variety of degree programs in the arts, humanities, sciences, engineering, and professional disciplines, the university is well known for its learn- by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model.

The university is noted for its scenic and historic 1,400-acre campus, which was once the winter ranch of cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg. We acknowledge that Cal Poly Pomona resides on the territorial and homelands of the Tongva and Tataavium people who are the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar. The university’s nearly 30,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus’s more than 1,400 faculty as part of 54 baccalaureate and 29 master’s degree programs, 11 credential and certificate programs, and a doctorate in educational leadership.

College of Business Administration

Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration, including the Singelyn Graduate School of Business, serves over 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) — a distinction earned by only 6% of business schools worldwide. Notably, the college, along with three other CSU campuses, holds a separate AACSB accreditation for its accounting program, placing it among the elite 3% of institutions globally with both business and accounting accreditations. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best undergraduate business programs, the college offers eight undergraduate options as part of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. In 2022, the Singelyn Graduate School of Business was established through a transformative gift from alumni David and Ruth Singelyn. Today, the graduate school offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and several specialized master’s programs. The college is housed in a state-of-the-art, three-building complex, featuring modern classrooms, lecture halls, labs, conference rooms, student club spaces, and offices for more than 100 faculty and staff.

Department of Technology & Operations Management

The Technology and Operations Management Department (TOM) offers rigorous and rewarding education in supply chain management and e-Business related areas. We host two options in Business Major with one in Supply Chain and Operations Management and the other in E-Business, two of the hottest areas in today’s business world. E-Business (EBZ)  is booming and the requirement for effective supply chain is becoming more and more challenging. Fifteen years ago, consumers are happy with free shipping but lengthy wait. Nowadays, they want the right product, and they want it in a day. The competitive advantages from supply chain management and e-Business are becoming the game changers for the business world. Your choice of Supply Chain Management and E- Business will set the right steps into the future business world.

Supply Chain and Operations Management has become the most popular option among our students. Over the years our graduates (with no full-time job experience) received job offers of up to the high $80,000’s, among the highest in the college. Some graduates go on to pursue graduate studies, and some pursue their doctorate. Recent (2018) graduates are offered full time jobs in big name companies such as Amazon, Boeing, Target, PepsiCo, J.B. Hunt, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) etc.
